Altavia Sumis and FEL will be continuing together under a new name: Altavia Unite. This
repositioning fits seamlessly within a transition that is visible throughout the market: the
need to connect people and brands. We spoke with Managing Director Stefan Hijstee about
this high-impact transition. “At Altavia Unite, we bring brands and people together.”

Two prestigious labels are repositioning themselves under the Altavia Group flag. What brought about this change?
“Around three years ago, Altavia Sumis and FEL began a transition where both companies saw their core business shifting closer towards one another. Altavia Sumis transformed from a traditional print management bureau into an expert in the field of end-to-end marketing. FEL originated as an experience agency, but it began to receive more and more requests in the areas of online campaigns and social media. That made our services increasingly complementary. Over the past year, that transition began to accelerate. That presented us with new opportunities, and we didn’t hesitate to seize them. So the momentum was now.”
You’ll be joining forces as altavia.unite. What will that mean for clients?
“Our new position means that our work method will be much more comprehensive. That’s the bit of end-to-end marketing. Our transition is driven by our realisation strength: we often work from creative concept to final implementation. It could be the placement of POS materials on the shop floor or a social video. As altavia.unite, we’ll advise our clients about that process and we’ll do everything in our power to make it a bit easier for them.”
Easier?
“Over the past few years, our relationship with clients has grown enormously. We work much more intensively and strategically together. As a result, we’ve also noticed that clients need someone to take work out of their hands. And we’re all too happy to help with that. That’s why we’ve made ‘simplify’ one of the foundations of our new strategic route. We think it wouldn’t be a bad thing if marketing were a bit less complex.”
Can clients only come to you for end-to-end services, or can you also provide just a part of the process?
“Clients don’t have to contract with us for the entire process. At altavia.unite, we differentiate between our service hubs ‘Create’ and ‘Produce’. For example, we’ll only help some customers elaborate creative concepts, and for others we’ll mainly produce communications materials. But our strength lies in connecting those two hubs. That’s why we refer to ourselves as a ‘Creative Production House’. We offer our clients 55 experts and 6 services under a single roof: Print, Social, Studio, Campaigns, Tooling and Fulfilment (Signing and Placement). That way, we can support our clients from end to end.”

Where does the name altavia.unite come from?
“First, it makes the connection with the Altavia Group.
Altavia Group is a pioneering, independent international group specialised in commercial communications for the retail sector. Altavia Unite is part of that group. The addition of ‘Unite’ comes forth from our vision. We strongly believe that we can create more value together, both with our clients and with our various teams. Even with other companies: when we join forces, we’ll achieve even more. So ‘Unite’ stands for uniting disciplines and talents, but it also stands for uniting brands and people. We bring that all together as Altavia Unite.”
Altavia Unite is a Creative Production House that works on behalf of brands such as BP, Gall & Gall, MG and ANWB.
